Spolight on Functional Neurological Disorder

The journal, Brain Communications, has compiled a special collection to showcase the growth of Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) research and to reflect the current diversity and rigour of studies in the field. Take a look...

FND research has made significant advances in neurological practice and research over the past 25 years. Once ‘invisible in textbooks’, FND is now widely recognised within neurology, thanks in no small part to pioneering work by Edinburgh researchers Profs Jon Stone and Alan Carson.

In his editorial, Prof Stone reminds us:

the brain is the organ of psychiatry too, and clinical, psychological and social studies are also important. FND is a disorder where scientific approaches from neurons to brains, from person to society, are all relevant and welcome.

...an ethos very much at the core of Edinburgh Neuroscience.
