SULSA Early Career Development Fund

Applications are now open for the SULSA Early Career Development Fund- a brilliant chance for early career researchers to accelerate their independent research trajectory. This funding aims to support researchers in developing their own independent academic research track. It can be used for a variety of activities.

This funding aims to support researchers in developing their own independent academic research track. It can be used for a variety of activities within these categories:

  • Travel
  • Training in new techniques/skills
  • Consumable costs
  • Facility access
  • Projects must build new connections, up-skill researchers, generate pilot data, or help develop pathways for future funding

 

Who can Apply

This call is open to researchers employed at full SULSA member institutions (please confirm eligibility via our website). Applicants must be Postdoctoral Researchers, Research Assistants, Technical Staff or Teaching Fellow pursuing an independent academic research track. All projects need at least one external collaborator (outside the applicant’s own institution). 

 

Key Dates

  • Outcomes: Early April 2026
  • Project Spend Period: Within 12 months of award - must be completed by 30th April 2027
