The Sullivan Lab uses human stem cell models, post-mortem brain tissue and neonatal brain MRI to study sex differences in how the developing brain responds to infection in early life.

Research in a nutshell

When babies are born too soon, boys have an increased risk of brain injury when compared to girls. To develop neuroprotective strategies, we need to understand why.
