Current research interests

My research research interests revolve around the function and plasticity of metabotropic inhibitory neurotransmitter receptors regulating the function of neurons. In particular, we are focusing on how plasticity of metabotropic receptors contributes to long-term functional properties of neuronal circuits.

Research in a nutshell

Me and my team are investigating the mechanisms of inhibitory neurotransmission that contribute to neuronal circuit function in diseases of the nervous system, notably: neurodevelopmental disorders, epilepsy, and neurodegeneration. To achieve this, we are combining electrophysiological recordings from acute and cultured tissue from rodents and human brains, combined with anatomical and biochemical analyses.
