Errors in eye development may lead to defects in vision at birth. Some of these errors are ought to mutations in genes that are expressed in the eye during foetal development. We aim to understand the functional role of these genes and how they interact with each other to give rise to a fully formed eye. This will provide us with a better insight into the causes of different ocular disorders opening future avenues for effective medical counselling, prevention and treatment.
